Painted to the exterior with groups of boys at play within a garden setting with billowing clouds overhead, the rim with a border of five phoenix separated by fire-scrolls, the interior roundel painted with a pair of mandarin ducks swimming in a lotus pond, the inner rim with a lotus meander borne on leafy tendrils, the cobalt of inky-blue tones (chips and cracks)
