Lot Essay
Little is known of this series of souvenirs, which carry the 1935 Royal Jubilee hallmark and are presumed to have been issued in commemoration of that event. The recipient's name was inscribed on a silver plate on the front of the plinth, but the plate is missing on this example. The small number of known surviving examples, compared to the 1937 shield issued to Gramophone Company dealers, suggests that this was distributed on a more limited basis.
