One of the best ever vintages of Latour, reputably the best of this excellent vintage. Five consistently good notes although none recent. M.B.
In his Notes on Wine and Food Sir John refers to a magnum at dinner April 1949: "superb nose, wonderful balance, a wine of great richness and depth ...... perhaps the finest wine I have yet drunk".
