1962s, upstaged by the '61s, are understandably underestimated. Most of the minor wines were, and should have been , drunk in the 1960s. Mouton, a lean but lively wine needed time. The bottle served by Jack in October 1975 acted as a flavour prelude to the '55 Lafite, '49 Haut-Brion and '45 Margaux. It was attractive and spicey but it was in an interim state. More recent notes are better. It is a lean long distance runner. M.B.
