A great, classic vintage, Cockburn at its best. Noted many times since 1959 and famous for its richness, spice, silky tannin, acidity and length. Now a palish but warm and ruddy amber; high toned, ethereal bouquet; still sweet, with the leaner refinement of age. Last noted in October 1994 in Christie's tasting room: an "unknown" port, no label, plain capsule which, upon opening we noted the cork fully branded Cockburn's vintage 1927. The client was pleased.
