Great vintage. A hot dry summer produced very ripe grapes, overall the highest natural grape sugar content since 1929, and good botrytis. Tasted at Yquem in April 1997. A wine for the future, and worth bearing in mind that 1991, 1992 and 1993 were disastrous in Sauternes. MB
