Saint-Emilion, 1er grand cru classé (A). Château-bottled
Original label, bin-soiled and slightly damaged and faded. Also replacement label, recorked in 1987 by the Château. Level into neck Cheval-Blanc at its incomparable best. Known to be the best of all the '21s, one of the top'29s, 1926 in my opinion tops the lot. Richly coloured, rich bouquet and a sweetness and sheer opulence that could only be approached by Romanée-Conti of a great vintage. An extremely rare, possibly unique jeroboam. MB
