Quinta da Serrado, Bual--1827
Cama de Lobos. Matured in cask until put in to demijohns in 1935 and finally bottled in Madeira in 1988. "Bual" and "1827" painted on the bottles. Brown wax capsules, chipped. Christie's slip labels on lots 33 to 36 only
Tasting note: A fabulous wine: a rich glowing amber; sweet, slightly caramelly, with scent of vanilla, and spirit resembling a fine old cognac; still fairly sweet, full-bodied - high alcohol, extract, sustaining power, intensity, incredible length and tingling acidity (M.B.)
