(see illustration) "Considered the greatest Yquem since 1847, with mammoth component parts, high sugar content and extract in particular, giving the wine unusual depth of colour, weight and power...very rich, honeyed, singed raisins, peach and orange blossom, sometimes like vanilla and orange candied peel, sometimes a bit chocolatey and Bual-like; ranging from medium-sweet to very sweet, always full-bodied, concentrated, assertive, with marcellous intensity and perfect counter-balancing acidity--a unique combination of power and beauty." .These bottles were originally from the Paris cellar of M. Jacques Rouët, the contents of which were sold at Christie's, London, March 1985.
