A SPECIAL OFFERING FROM THE.DOMINUS ESTATE LIBRARY..The Dominus Estate, created as a partnership between Christian Moueix and members of the Daniel family in 1982, is now owned entirely by Christian Moueix. The wine is produced from the Napanook vineyard, situated on the south side of the Yountville Mound in the heart of the Napa Valley. This vineyard, which is dry farmed and has been in production since the 19th Century, was the source of the grapes for the great Inglenook Cabernets of the 1940's and 1950's. It encompasses 124 acres and is currently planted mostly to Cabernet Sauvignon, with some Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The wines have evolved from a more rustic style at the outset to a richer and riper style without losing any of their considerable power, thanks largely to what one might call "behavioral training" of the tannins. The wines have met with great critical success, especially since the 1987 vintage..
