Removed from a temperature-controlled 55°F cellar in an American home
These two bottles are classic examples of unretouched old Lafites, purchased from cold English country house cellars. The 1865 Lafite was purchased by the consignor at Christie's London sale of the cellar of Sir George Meyrick, Bordorgan, North Wales, in October 1970. The magnum of 1870 Lafite was purchased at the sale of the cellar Glamis Castle cellar at Christie's London on June 24, 1971 (see accompanying article).
