Robert Falcon SCOTT (1868-1912). a 1p. ALS to an unnamed correspondant, 13 June [1901], 8vo (16 x 11cm.) "I have great pleasure in enclosing a card [not present] for admittance to the 'Discovery' I should advise a visit in July rather than at present as the Ship will then be more fully prepared We do not sail till the end of July", contained within a single mount with six other ephemeral items relating to Scott (a copy photograph of Ponting's photographic portrait of Scott in polar clothing; a copy photograph of Daniel Wehrschmidt's 1905 oil portrait of Scott in full-dress naval uniform; a 1960's(?) colour postcard showing the Discovery berthed on the Thames in central London; an unused 9p stamp featuring a portrait of Scott; a newspaper clipping from The Scotsman, dated Feb. 11th 1913, with the announcement of the fate of the polar party; and a clipping giving a brief resumé of Scott's career).
