Half-titles, tiles in red and black. 2 folding maps, printed in three colours, loose in pockets at back, plates and maps (some double-page, or coloured). (Occasional light spotting, some browning to loose maps.) Original blue cloth gilt, t.e.g. (very light bumping to extremities), the two volumes contained in a single modern blue cloth slipcase. Provenance: Reginald I. Smith (publisher, inscription 'RIS as 12 Oct 1905'); by descent (purchased by present owner at family house sale, Buckinghamshire, 16.5.86).
