A TARIM BASIN RUG
Mid 19th Century
Having an indigo archaic dragon medallion flanked by rows of parallel stripes on the brick red field
Approximately 6ft. x 3ft. 5in. (183cm. x 104cm.)

Descriptif du lot

Warp: cotton, ecru, natural, Z4S
Weft: cotton, ecru, natural, Z2, some Z3
Pile: wool, Z2, asymmetric open right, no warp depression, H5 x V5, some knot pull varies, some tight, some loose and bulging
Sides: 1 bundle of 2 body warps wrapped in red pile wool
Ends: top: 1 inch loose balanced plainweave, 3 x Z2 wefted in cotton; bottom: 1/2 inch as above, but Z2 wefted, warp loops
Colors: red, dark, medium and light blue, ivory, blue-green
