A FINE DATED AND INSCRIBED WHITE JADE DISH
Dated Qianlong Xinmao Xia, Corresponding to Summer 1771, and Possibly of the Period
With shallow rounded sides flaring from the shallow ring foot towards a slightly everted rim, the inscription followed by the two seals of Qianlong finely carved on the base, the translucent stone of even white tone
6in. (16cm.) diam.

Lot Essay

The inscription may be translated: 'From the plains at Mount Song where a mountain range flows into Khotan they produced this jade finery. So I had people ask around to try and find out in what family in Beigu, Xiliang, they had been handing down (a dish) with such immortal feeling'.
