A PAINTED RED POTTERY FIGURE OF A COURT LADY
Tang Dynasty
Well modeled with hands clasped within the full sleeves of her long, heavy robes falling in deep folds to the base, the shawl over her shoulders and the neckline of her lowcut bodice indicated by crisply incised lines, her full face modeled with a small mouth and nose and her hair dressed in stiff wings on either side surmounted by an asymmetrical pouf, with traces of orangey-red, black and white pigment remaining
