The text consists of seventy poems from the Tang dynasty
Inscribed: "In mid-autumn of dingmao year of the Zhengde era (1507), I travelled to Xishan with Mr. Donglu and visited Qian's family and their collection of paintings and calligrapy. We saw a piece of calligraphy of one hundred Tang poems by Zhao Mengfu. The calligraphy was very beautiful and elegant. Its fine brushwork was in the style of Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi. Later, on my boat, I reflected on the calligraphy scroll and wrote down seventy of the poems on a roll of paper that I had in my luggage."
