A RARE MASSIVE CARVED CELADON JARDINIRE
Yuan Dynasty
The thickly potted, rounded sides well carved with a wide frieze of lotus scroll bearing large blossoms arranged in two rows, the blossoms in the upper row flanked by lotus buds, those in the lower row flanked by water weeds, all below a flat, everted rim lightly incised with foliate spray reserves, the lower body carved in imitation of a decorative stand raised on six ruyi-head legs joined by shaped aprons, covered inside and out with a glaze of rich olive-green tone, a drainage hole in the center now filled in
24in. (61cm.) diam.
