Late 16th/Early 17th Century
The 'official's hat' top rail with swept-back rounded terminals, supported on an S-shaped backsplat and round-section upper extensions to the rear legs, the serpentine arms with projecting rounded terminals supported on the 'gooseneck' side and front posts with a shaped spandrel, the soft-mat seat frame above beaded aprons, the legs braced with stepped stretchers and a footrest, the tenons exposed
