Lot Essay

In 1926, Patrick spent the summer in Provence where he produced a group of drawings and etchings of Avignon, Carcassonne, Nimes and other towns in the South of France. These drawings clearly illustrate the artist's ability to record in great detail the architecture of the townscapes, some of which were later produced as etchings.
