The makers have kindly confirmed that the gun was completed in 1944 and they have further stated that it was the last 16-bore gun built by Rigby's. The maker's ledgers confirm that the engraving was executed by Harry Kell, who, with Jack Sumner, was responsible for some of the finest work undertaken on British guns and rifles in the late Victorian period to the mid - 1950's
