A REGENCY BRASS-INLAID ROSEWOOD, SIMULATED-ROSEWOOD AND EBONISED CENTRE TABLE
The circular tilt-top inlaid with lines and a border of stars and anthemion motifs, above a frieze with further stars and foliage, on a ring-turned and fluted tapering column and acanthus-clasped base, on a concave-sided tripartite plinth inlaid with further stars and foliage, on paw feet headed by foliage scrolls, with sunk castors, the tilting-mechanism and bearers later, originally fixed, the brass inlay later and with traces of other mounts on the frieze; with modern baize-covered rectangular extension to lay on top (31 in. (78.5 cm.) high; 96 in. (244 cm.) long; 50¼ in. (127.5 cm.) deep) and conforming circular extension (60½ in. (153.5 cm.) diam.)
