The scrolled back, arms and squab cushion covered in floral silk, on cabriole legs with demi-mouldings, and pad feet, restorations, later blocks inscribed to the underside '52/6091', the upholstery distressed

AND A DUTCH WILLIAM III WALNUT SIDE CHAIR
The pierced, scrolling, scallop-shell cresting above a pierced splat with S-scrolls flanking further scallop-shells and leaves, above a drop-in seat covered in red and blue floral gros point needlework, the lobed seat-rail with apron, on moulded cabriole legs and pad feet, the underside inscribed in white paint '38/4641' and 'OM4641', incised 'II', restorations and replacements to the veneer, one leg spliced, one foot tipped, the central splat replaced (2)
Provenance
The Parker Knoll records state that the second chair was acquired from Dare in 1918 for £30, the extra needlework cost £3.
