Probably from a statue of Mercury, the sensitively modelled right foot encased in ankle high sandal, with calf muscle flexed to support body weight, the sandal with lacing on the front and toe thong, two fragmentary winged spurs on each side of the ankle, with engraved decoration of lotus buds and leaves either side of the laced tongue, the long toes with details of joints and toe-nails, core-filled, mounted
