A LARGE DAUNIAN POTTERY CUP

With flat bowl and slightly flaring rim from which projects wide strap handle surmounted by horns and flanked by animal heads, the buff surface decorated with geometric designs, 7½ in. (19 cm.) diam. max.; another two similar, 5½ in. (14 cm.) diam. max.; a Daunian vessel, the squat conical body with wide flaring rim, the handle with tall thumb support surmounted by horns, bichrome geometric decoration, 6½ in. (16.5 cm.) high, all 5th Century B.C.; a pottery biconical footed jar, 3.7/8 in. (9.8 cm.) high; another pottery urn with band of notched decoration below the rim, 5¾ in. (14.6 cm.) high, both repaired with restoration; and a pottery hemispherical bowl with disc lid containing teeth, lid repaired, 3.7/8 in. (9.8 cm.) diam. (7)
