A LARGE ROMAN IRIDESCENT GLASS JAR
CIRCA 3RD-4TH CENTURY A.D.
The bulbous body with wide flaring conical neck, silvery iridescence overall, circular flake from lower body, 6.1/8 in. (15.6 cm.) high; a translucent glass jar with outward-folded flat rim, 2.7/8 in. (7.3 cm.) high; an iridescent glass cylindrical beaker with slightly everted ground down rim, 4.3/8 in. (11 cm.) high; a clear glass stylized bird flask with tapering spouted tail and wide everted mouth, repaired, 2.7/8 in. (7.3 cm.) high; a pale green glass trefoil-lipped juglet with squat body and applied handle, 3¼ in. (8.3 cm.) high, all 1st-4th Century A.D.; and a core-formed glass trefoil-lipped oinochoe on flaring foot, the body decorated with marvered opaque yellow zigzags and encircling spiralling lines, iridescent, rim chipped, late 6th-5th Century B.C., Eastern Mediterranean, 3.1/8 in.
