The circular white-enamelled face with Roman and Arabic chapters, signed AGERON A PARIS, the movement also signed in script, the case in the form of a camel, surmounted by a male figure holding an umbrella, the sides with trellis-pierced sounding panels, on a rock-cast base mounted with a Cupid carrying the clock case, bearing the 'C' Couronn poinon five times

Lot Essay

This impressive clock, with its exotic camel and chinoiserie figure with parasol, is based on a celebrated model in the Louvre, illustrated in H. Ottomeyer and P. Prschel, Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich, 1986, vol. I, p. 119, fig. 265.
