The unusual fish-scale carving and central, open cartouche with a rocaille border is a distinctive feature of Bavarian console tables. Related consoles at the Residenz in Munich, are illustrated in G. Hojer and H. Ottomeyer, Die Mbel der Residenz Mnchen, Munich, 1996, vol. II, p.212.
