This table, with its delicate marquetry inlaid swags to the top and cabriole legs terminating in cloven feet, relates to a group of tables executed by the celebrated Neuwied cabinet maker Abraham Roentgen in the 1750's. Similar examples are illustrated in J.M. Greber, Abraham und David Roentgen - Mbel fr Europa, Starnberg, vol. II, 1980, pp. 29, 146, figs. 46 and 271.
