A FLEMISH OYSTER-VENEERED KINGWOOD AND WALNUT CABINET-ON-STAND
Late 17th early 18th Century
The rectangular top with moulded cornice above a moulded frieze-drawer and two doors decorated with concentric circles and quarter circles to the angles, enclosing a fitted interior with four drawers and a recess with later pink silk-lining, above a glass-topped writing-slide with silk beneath it, the stand with two crossbanded frieze-drawers on five spirally turned supports with Corinthian capitals and foliate bases joined by a waved flat stretcher and on bun feet, the interior previously with further shelf and the stand reconstructed in the 19th Century incorporating earlier elements, the reverse with remains of old paper label
