AN ITALIAN POLYCHROME-PAINTED ARMOIRE
18th Century and later decorated
Cream-painted overall with blue-ground panels with berainesque scenes with Greek and Roman figures and with scrolling foliage, the later scrolling cornice above a moulded edge and two triple-panelled doors enclosing a plain interior, the shaped apron flanked by shaped rounded bracket feet, the back feet and apron partially later, with label to the inside of the door '£3800', the reverse variously inscribed in black wash, with old Italian transport label and with old export label 'Collo No. 7/... Giuseppe ..nistero Guerray...'
