A NORTH ITALIAN CREAM AND GREEN-DECORATED BUREAU-CABINET ON STAND
First half 18th Century, probably Piedmont
Decorated overall with scrolling foliage and strapwork, the double- squared arched top above a pair of mirror-panelled doors enclosing a fitted interior with twelve variously-sized pigeon-holes and two small paper-lined drawers, above a slide, the bureau section with a sloping flap enclosing a fitted interior with seven variously-sized small drawers and four pigeon-holes, the flap with a book stop, above two short and two long green paper-lined drawers, on square tapering legs with pinched capitals and joined by a waved X-shaped stretcher, on bun feet, minor refreshments to the decoration, the interiors redecorated
