An antique Perepedil rug, East Caucasus
The light brick-red field with overall design of polychrome hooked panels, serrated palmettes, stylised ram-horns, dart-motifs and animals surrounded by small rosettes and S-motif panels, in an ivory border of stylised polychrome hooked arrowheads between indigo angular flowering vine stripes, outer green ribbon, ivory stellar flowerhead, reciprocal skittle-pattern and barber-pole stripes, short kilim at each end, very slight localized wear at one end
