A late 18th early 19th Century bluejohn "abolishionist" pendant,
probably produced for the Anti-Slavery Society (founded in 1787) the circular bluejohn pendant enclosing a painted miniature depicting a chained kneeling negro slave in raised relief against a sea and mountain landscape, painted under glass with foliate detail, to a gilt pendant loop.
