The case with foliate inlay to all sides and leaf cast mounts, with quatrefoil sound frets to the sides, the gilt-bronze dial with individual white enamel Roman chapters and enamel Arabic five minute chapters, plain enamel centre signed ELLIS FRÈRES EXETER & PARIS, the twin barrel movement with strike on gong (lacking), with repeat stamp to the backplate, the inside of the rear door with paper owner's label dated 1872
