The hood with swan-neck pediment flanking a brass ball and eagle finial, with urn and foliate scroll marquetry below, with carved sound frets to the sides and gilt-brass capped columns to the recessed front angles, the arched and glazed trunk door with line inlay and within a crossbanded border, on stepped plinth with recessed panel with marquetry wreath and urn inlay, mounted with a brass presentation plaque dated 1919 and with wavy apron, the arched brass dial with eagle and floral urn spandrels to the silvered chapter ring, matted centre with subsidiary seconds ring and chime/silent ring in the arch flanked by dolphin spandrels, the three train movement with anchor escapement and quarter-chiming on four tubular gongs with hour strike on further tubular gong
