The case with brass handle to basket top, glazed side panels, on brass bun feet, later escutcheons to doors, the 7in. (18cm.) square brass dial with winged cherub spandrels to the silvered chapter ring signed Asselin London, matted centre with ringed winding holes, date and mock pendulum apertures, with strike/not strike lever beside IX, the five pillar twin wire fusee movement with re-built knife edge verge escapement with later Webster style backcock, hour striking on a bell and with pull quarter repeat on five bells via five hammers, with pendulum holdfast to the backplate engraved with foliate scrolls, birds and central mask, with repeat signature
