8°, folding hand-coloured aquatint frontispiece, engraved title with aquatint vignette, 24 hand-coloured aquatint plates, half-page engraved map of the environs of Sidmouth on final leaf (plate margins lightly thumb-soiled, lightly spotted), contemporary calf, two gilt floral borders and panel ruled in black and gilt (joints cracked, extremities very rubbed). Provenance: Fr. A. Ram, onwnership inscription on title; Abel John Ram, bookplate.
FIRST EDITION, ?FIRST ISSUE. Our copy contains all the plates called for by Abbey for the first issue, and also includes two additional plates, "Woolbrook Cottage" and "Powys Cottage", which are normally found in the second issue. The "Woolbrook Cottage" plate, however, is dated a year earlier than it is in the second issue. Abbey Scenery 307.
