Cross, explanatory leaf opposite engraved title, inserted leaf with 3 woodcuts between pp. 122 and 123, numerous woodcut illustrations of transfigurations, advertisment leaf at end (title of another work by Bulwer mistakingly bound in between engraved and printed title, lacking the portrait, margins of engraved title cropped, first 4 leaves lightly wormed, a few stains, lower margin of the second half lightly waterstained, mainly marginal browning, light spotting), contemporary calf (head and tail of spine restored, spine and extremities very rubbed, lacking front endpaper). Provenance: old inscriptions to recto of explanatory leaf.
