A Rainy Day, Munich

This and the following lot come from the collection of a former student and teacher at the Berlin Contemporena, a school similar to the Bauhaus, but smaller, that existed in the 1930s. When the school closed shortly before the war, the artwork obtained by the school over the years was dispersed among the instructors. It is possible that Munkacsi was affiliated with the school while he spent time in Berlin in the early 1930s.
