Smith/CHESTER within a cartouche below, subsidiary seconds ring and date aperture, with pierced black-painted hands, the weight-driven movement with anchor escapement striking on on bell above, the stepped rectangular hood with spirally-turned angles and glazed sides, weight lacking, the hand of the seconds ring missing, the movement and dial later
