A panoramic wooded landscape with a herdsman and his flock on a sandy track at dusk

The artist was born in Courtrai and received his artist eduction from the landscape painter Jean-Baptiste De Jonghe (1785-1844) in Antwerp. In his landscapes, such as the present lot, the influence of his teacher is clearly felt.
