The curved single edged blade double-edged at the point and with gold encrusted naskh inscriptions along the back-edge on one side, the forte encrusted with gold stylised qur'anic rectilinear kufic inscription panels around two gold arabesque interlace roundels, one set with a cabochon red hardstone, the curved hilt comprising silver parcel-gilt nielloed quillon block with cast and chased lozenge decoration extending to bud-shaped terminals, the ribbed ebony grips inlaid with silver lines and pellets, later silver pommel-cap, traces of old corrosion on blade, quillons rubbed
