Victor-Marie, Duc d'Estrées, Comte de Coeuvres (1660-1737) was a Marshal of France and Naval Commander during the war of the Spanish Succession. He later became a member of the Regency Council after the death of King Louis XIV. The present miniature is after the large-scale oil portrait in the Musée National du Château de Versailles, inv. 9198/MV4369.
