Similar miniatures are illustrated in B. Sani, Rosalba Carriera, Turin, 1988, no. 72, pl. 57 and in A. Scarpa, Omaggio a Rosalba Carriera - Miniature et Pastelli nelle collezioni private, Venice, 1997, p. 20.
For the latter, Scarpa suggests a date of about 1715. The slightly lower wig and less ornate coat of the present miniature indicates a date of circa 1715-1720.
