Richard Gregory entered the Coldstream Guards as an Ensign on 24 August 1785; was promoted to Lieutenant and Captain on 4 May 1791 and retired 20 February 1794.

Williamson and Engleheart (op. cit) record that Captain Gregory sat to George Engleheart in 1791.
