Adélaïde, Princess of Orléans (1777-1848), daughter of Philippe-Egalité and Princess Louise de Penthièvre, was called Madame Adélaïde. The sister of King Louis-Philippe, she remained unmarried.
Hélène of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (1814-1858) was married to King Louis-Philippe's eldest son, the Duke of Orléans, in 1837. Her young husband died five years later in a carriage accident.
