In the Empire Revival Style, Circa 1880
Comprising a bureau plat, tub chair and bibliothèque cabinet; the bureau plat with a rectangular top and moulded edge, inset with a gilt- tooled green leather writing surface, with a pair of pull-out slides above the side drawers, above three frieze drawers, the sides each with two additional drawers, the reverse with apparent drawers and a slide above the central drawer, on slender turned tapering legs, joined by an elaborate stretcher to each side, on toupie feet; the chair with a curved back, the arms supported by an addorsed swan to each side, on square tapering legs; the bibliothèque cabinet with a breakfront stepped pediment, above a pair of glazed central doors, with three adjustable shelves to the interior, and flanked to each side by a cupboard door, each with three adjustable shelves, on plinth base and turned feet
