A Worcester double-lipped two-handled sauceboat
Circa 1755
Of small size, the moulded scroll handles with flat oval thumbpieces, the exterior delicately painted with figures of a gallant and companion each within four moulded circular oakleaf cartouches flanking the lower terminal of the handles and the fluted lips, the interior with a loose bouquet and the lips each with a female mask, flanked by shells and scrolls and pendant flowers beneath a brown-line rim (crack to lower terminal of one handle, slight rubbing to rim)
