A pair of Paris gold-ground slender oviform vases
Circa 1820
With moulded gilt scroll and anthemion handles enclosing biscuit oval classical head medallions, each vase painted with a half-length portrait of a lady in plumed hat on a shaded brown ground, the reverse burnished with a lyre flanked by cornucopia, the lower part and flared neck with radiating stiff leaves and flowers, the circular spreading stem on a square foot (one vase with restored rim chips to lower part and with restoration to one handle, both vases with some minute rubbing to gilding)
